[kamina is roving the huge selection of deliciousness while clad in boat provided flip-flops, his own totally awesome flame swimming trunks, and Meiyo slung over his shoulders.  there's a feeling he keeps getting that's almost like the Hollows back in Soul Society, but less...intense if he had to attach a qualifier to it.  almost like whatever it is is waiting.


but there's very little on his mind other than eating all he possibly can while he's here right now and that is what matters.]

[ yeah we can just avoid those sorts of talking-about-feelings conversations, she's far too... well, too Sheryl to be lured out that easily. Actions speak louder than words, anyway, so she uncrosses her arms and leans into his chest as she kisses him back ]

[to be fair, kamina would do the same thing if she tried to asked him to do the same thing so in that regard, it's a draw. as for the kissing, he's had practice so he shouldn't be terrible at it. in theory anyway. the corners of his mouth barely twitch upward to indicate a smile. this? this is pretty sweet.]

[ she's starting to feel a bit cold; at first she just presses closer to him, but really, it's a little weird. She shoots a glance to her right to see if-- who knows, maybe an icebox fell out of the sky--

and finds herself face to face with someone very see-through, very dead-looking, very bloody, and startling enough that she immediately shrieks and recoils backwards, arms thrown up over her face ]

[okay, girls are not supposed to scream in terror in the middle of making out. it can't be a good sign. a demand for an explanation dies in his throat once he notices the cause of it all standing right next to him. meiyo is out of its sheath in a moment. he knew there was something fishy about the whole place. you never got something this awesome for free. kamina places himself between the ghost and sheryl, sword radiating a faint red glow. he growls a two-word warning to the spirit.] Beat it.

Get it! [ she's still kind of shrieky, and if she were alone she'd be working out how to get rid of it herself-- but he's the professional with the lightsaber weaponry, so she'll leave it to him in this situation ]

[the ghost tries to get closer, but it'd have to get past the tip of his sword first which is proving difficult to do. it would also have to get past the decent amount of spiritual energy kamina is giving off because he is righteously pissed. it did genuinely surprise him, but the biggest reason?

it interrupted his make-out session.

that is unforgivable.] You got two seconds.

[two seconds of ghostly freaking out. the spirit energy is doing its job, but it isn't over until kamina resheathes meiyo and hits it on the top of its with the hilt.] Get the hell outta here!

[and it is so, disappeared into thin air.]

... [his eyebrow twitches in disbelief. did she seriously just-- you know what? glaring, he thrusts the sword in her hands.] Show me!

[ she rests the sword on her shoulder like a baseball bat, and walks purposefully to one of the stairwells leading inside ]

Hey, ghosts! Come on out and fight me!

[there is no longer any doubt.

this woman will get everyone on the boat killed, one way or another. he facepalms and decides to hang back and wait for her to come to her senses which would be never, but it can't hurt to try.

thankfully, it isn't much longer until a ghost appears in front of sheryl. TIME TO SHOW HER STUFF.]

[ let's see, what did kamina do? She goes to pull the sword out of its sheath but her arms aren't long enough and it gets caught halfway. She shoves it back in, turns it around, and brings the hilt down--

well, she tries. And her aim is perfectly fine. The problem is that the ghost persists in being intangible. She shakes it in the general direction of its face a couple of times, then whips around. (the ghost mostly looks bemused.) ]

It's broken!

THE HELL IT ISN'T! [it better not be anyway, otherwise sheryl is going to replace it or get it fixed somehow. screw the sword relying on spiritual energy; she broke it, she bought it.]

It's not working! Look! [ she gets it out of the scabbard finally (with the help of one of her feet) and waves the sword through the ghost, who looks like he's rather had most of his haunting momentum drained out of him ]

that and the face that she is waving around a naked sword and one wrong move could give her more than a papercut.
