[kamina is roving the huge selection of deliciousness while clad in boat provided flip-flops, his own totally awesome flame swimming trunks, and Meiyo slung over his shoulders.  there's a feeling he keeps getting that's almost like the Hollows back in Soul Society, but less...intense if he had to attach a qualifier to it.  almost like whatever it is is waiting.


but there's very little on his mind other than eating all he possibly can while he's here right now and that is what matters.]

Hm? Oh... I have been on tour a lot recently. And even at home-- Galaxy isn't like Frontier. You can't see the stars every night, necessarily.

It's home, so even though it has its faults, I...

Actually, I... hated it. I think I was happy there once, but after my parents died... it was the worst place to be.

[treasured forever] Yep. It was all walls and ceilings. Nobody deserves to live in a place like that. If that's what Galaxy was like then I'm glad you gotta out of there.

It was... [ she sighs ] It was industrialized, so it was floors and floors of small, divided spaces. And if you're on your own, it's even worse, but... it was my home. And now it's missing.

[he shudders at the idea of it. no sky to aim for, no ground to place your feet on for a running start. and facing it alone. it sounded like hell.

the next step is taken without too much thought. sheryl is his friend. you're meant to support your friends through thick and thin. kamina puts an arm around her shoulder and smiles. no bravado there, just genuine concern and care.] Missing don't mean gone. They'll find it soon and without a scratch too. I'd bet my sword on it.

I didn't say I'd given up, had I? [ she laughs a little, self-deprecatingly ] Look at me, telling you this. I haven't gotten this sentimental since I found out about it.

Ain't any good keepin' stuff holed up inside otherwise it eats you up. [shrugs] Just 'cause you're Sheryl Nome don't mean you got feelings too.

Of course I do. Why do you think I write such good songs? [ it's not boastful, just saying what a tour full of sold out shows has already said. And then, a little more playful ] Not all of us have to beat things up to get our feelings out, you know.

Hmmm. They are good. I mean, I like 'em, and I ain't heard much music. [he pulls a face] Oi, oi, writing and stuff is hard! A man's gotta rough something up now and again to get it all out!

That's 'cause shirts are stupid! [since kamina is dense as a rock about these sort of things, he hasn't noticed much. also that boy is a chump. unfortunately, he and this boy have about the same understanding of Serious Soul-Baring Conversations. go figure.]

but mostly oh. sheryl is kissing him. which is pretty awesome. and somewhat confusing because he was sure she just tolerated him, but that's beside the point. because kissing is awesome and he's kissing back.]
